Twenty eight employees were lauded for their valuable service and dedication by Banks DIH Limited during a Long Service Award Luncheon held in their honour at Thirst Park.
Mr. Andrew Carto, Human Resources Director who delivered the feature address at the Ceremony for the employees who attained 20 years of service, said Banks DIH Limited is indebted to them for their contribution to the Company.

Banks DIH Limited appointed six Sports Brand Ambassadors to promote three of its non-alcoholic brands – Tropical Mist Water , I-CEE and Malta Supreme during a simple ceremony held on October 3rd, 2013 at Thirst Park.
The Brand Ambassadors are: Ms. Christine Sukhram (golf), Mr. Neil Reece (cyclist), Mr. Daniel Lopes (lawn tennis), Ms. Soroya Simmons (swimming), Ms. Ashley De Groot (squash) and Mr. Stefan Corlette (table tennis).

The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will give more than one million people across the world the chance to experience the FIFA World Trophy™ in their own communities. Guyana included, the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy will arrive in Georgetown on October 30, 2013.
This will be the largest and longest global tour of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy by Coca-Cola. Visiting more countries than ever during its nine-month journey, a total of 89 countries, with events in 39 countries across the region that is home to the host nation, Brazil. The tour will also be visiting 50 new countries that have never had the opportunity to host the trophy before.

Anthony Xavier secured the Billiards and pools titles at last weekend’s Banks DIH Limited Sports Programme held at the Sports Club at Thirst Park.
Xavier of the Sales Department defeated Outdoor Sales Manager Mortimer Stewart (Sales Department) in the Billiards final by 120 points to 64.
Xavier also got the better of Dave Singh of Soft Drink Plant in the Pools final to cap an outstanding day in the cue games.

Banks DIH 2013 Sports Programme will climax on Saturday as employees battle for supremacy at cricket, football, dominoes, pools, billiards, table tennis and darts at the Sports Club at Thirst Park starting at 08:00 hours.
The programme will get underway with cricket with Berbice Branch squaring off with Essequibo in the 12-over aside cricket semi-final match at 08:00 hours with the winner meeting Soft Drink Plant in the final.

Banks DIH Limited presented bursaries to 24 children of employees and shareholders who were successful at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) during a presentation ceremony Saturday at Banks DIH Sports Club at Thirst Park.
Mr. George McDonald, Co-Managing Director/Marketing Director in his feature address encouraged the students to capitalize on the educational prospects being offered to them.

The world’s number one stout will be spreading the philanthropic legacy of its founder Sir Arthur Guinness by identifying and rewarding five community heroes across the Caribbean.
The five community heroes will receive cash from the Arthur Guinness Fund which will go towards supporting their social project and bettering their communities.
