Banks DIH Ltd. has joined other Coca Cola producers in the Caribbean in providing assistance to the people of St. Lucia who were severely affected by hurricane Tomas that caused widespread damage to the island.

A 20-foot container of Tropical Mist Water and Trisco Biscuits was loaded at Banks DIH Ltd. Complex at Thirst Park and shipped to St. Lucia on Tuesday.

Mr. George McDonald, Assistant Managing Director/Marketing Director, said that members of the Caribbean Coca Cola Bottlers Association (KOCBA) decided to come together and pool their resources to assist the people of St. Lucia after assessing the damage done to the sister Caribbean state.

“The damage done by the hurricane was significant and we would like to show our support to the people of St. Lucia by providing water and biscuits,” Mr. McDonald said.

He added that all of the members of KOCBA are involved in helping the citizens of St. Lucia.

According to Mr. McDonald the shipment will be received by Du Boulay’s Bottling Company, the Coca Cola bottlers in Castries, St. Lucia.

Hurricane Tomas was reported to have killed over two dozen people and caused damage in excess of $ US 100 million to the Caribbean island.
