Beverage giants Banks DIH continued its support for the President’s Cup football showdown between Guyana’s Golden Jaguars and Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors by presenting energy drinks to the national footballers.
Players and officials of both National and Under-20 squads were presented with Powerade, a beverage that is ideal for athletes, Communications Manager Troy Peters disclosed.
World renowned Guinness master brewer Fergal Murray wrapped up, on Tuesday, a two- day visit here as part of a tour to the English- speaking Caribbean.
Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited under the world renowned brand Guinness yesterday presented a cheque to organisers of the inaugural President’s Cup Football Kashif & Shanghai which will cover air travel for the overseas based Guyanese players and support staff.
World renowned Guinness Master Brewer, Fergal Murray is due in Guyana for a two-day visit starting on Monday as part of a tour to the English-speaking Caribbean.
During his stay in Guyana, Murray will appear of the Guyana Today Show on NCN on Tuesday morning. He will later meet with members of the media and conduct a workshop for sales and marketing representatives, brewery staff of Banks DIH Ltd. and customers.
Murray will also host a Guinness Master Brewer Night Out with key customers, VIPs’ and media personnel at OMG on Sheriff Street.
Several of the country’s leading sportsmen and sportswomen have been introduced to a new line of energy drinks being distributed locally by Banks DIH Ltd. in association with the Coca Cola Company.
Banks DIH Special Events Manager Mortimer Stewart said that his company recently launched a sampling exercise to give athletes a chance to taste the products which include Powerade, Glaceau Vitamin Water, Nestea iced Tea and Minutes Maid beverages.
Banks DIH Ltd. presented Bursaries to twenty children of employees and shareholders who were successful at the 2010 National Grade Six Assessment during a presentation ceremony on Saturday at Thirst Park.
Andrew Carto, Human Resources Director who delivered the feature address called on the children to work hard in their pursuit of excellence.
He said the bursary award is an annual feature within the company for more than three decades that offers opportunities for the recipients.

Over sixty children are attending a one-month Vacation Sports and Academic Camp at Banks DIH Sports Complex at Thirst Park geared at offering life skills to the participants.
