Anthony Xavier secured the Billiards and pools titles at last weekend’s Banks DIH Limited Sports Programme held at the Sports Club at Thirst Park.

Xavier of the Sales Department defeated Outdoor Sales Manager Mortimer Stewart (Sales Department) in the Billiards final by 120 points to 64.

Xavier also got the better of Dave Singh of Soft Drink Plant in the Pools final to cap an outstanding day in the cue games.

Essequibo Branch Manager Muniram Singh (16 games) was crowned Dominoes King with victory over Geoffrey La Rose of Linden (13 games) and Terry Liverpool of Vehicle Workshop third with 12 games in the final.

Ann Josiah of Security Department marked 17 games to claim the Queens dominoes Crown from Goleen Ferguson of Sanitation and Sheron Douglas of Electrical

Department who both ended on 12 games but Ferguson copped the second position having more sixes than Douglas.

Mubianbo King of Brewery retained his table tennis title after playing unbeaten in the five-man playoffs.

King secured 16 points to beat into second position Communications Manager Troy Peters who ended with 12 points, losing only to King while third place was taken by Rayan Faria of Berbice who secured eight points.

Essequibo Branch scored an exciting four-wicket win over Berbice in the 12-over aside Tapeball cricket semi-finals and will now meet Soft Drink Plant in the final.

Berbice made 73 runs in their allotted 12 overs and Essequibo hit off the required runs for the loss of six wickets.

Sales Department will battle with Distribution Warehouse in the five-a-side football finals.

Stores ‘B’ will square off with Workshop ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams in the team dominoes finals. The dates for the cricket, team dominoes and football finals will be decided shortly.
