The East Coast Demerara leg of the Premium Cues countrywide Pools competition will take place on Sunday at Jameel’s Sports Bar at Vryheid’s Lust starting at 13:00 hours.
The playoff will attract some of the top pools players on the East Coast competing for a top prize of $50,000 with the runner-up securing $30,000 while the third place finisher will take home $15,000.
The tournament entitled “Premium Cues Showdown” is sponsored by Banks DIH Limited under the Premium Beer brand.
Brand Manager Brian Choo Hen said that the response so far has been overwhelming as the tournament was organized to promote pools across the country and to showcase new talent.
Choo Hen said there were playoffs in Essequibo, Berbice, West Demerara, East Bank Demerara and the top players are expected to compete in the grand finals.
According to Choo Hen two preliminary competitions were played on the East Coast last weekend at White Chair Bar at Hope West, Enmore and at New Club 17 Bar at Bee Hive.
He added, “We are encouraging sports enthusiasts and pools lovers to come out and have an enjoyable time at Jameel’s Sports Bar. Patrons can expect an entertaining day with lots of fun.”
