Banks DIH Limited presented bursaries to 24 children of employees and shareholders who were successful at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) during a presentation ceremony Saturday at Banks DIH Sports Club at Thirst Park.

Mr. George McDonald, Co-Managing Director/Marketing Director in his feature address encouraged the students to capitalize on the educational prospects being offered to them.

“Whatever you plan to do in this life you would need a good education. You have an excellent start thanks to your parents and teachers and you must not let them down - make use of the opportunities,” he told the awardees.

Mr. Mc Donald said that Banks DIH Limited is growing at a fast rate and it will need young people with the ability to take it forward.

He noted that several executives of the Banks DIH were also recipients of bursaries and later returned to serve the Company at the completion of their secondary education.

Communications Manager Troy Peters said the Company recognized the hard work and success of the students and was extremely proud to present the awards to them.
“We feel a sense of pride to honour this special group of children who have excelled and we share your joy and success,” he added.

Ten of the children are employees children while 14 are children of shareholders.
The successful students are: Olivia Sandy, Maleah Hopkinson, Priya Ramcharran, Jonathan Doodnauth, Olufeme Jones, Tryia Crum-Ewing, Kathleena Lall, Aaliyah Peterkin, Aneesa Leedoux, Felicia Pillay, Daniel Baldeo-Thorne, Yonathan Camacho, Lukas Walcott, Shania Renee Smith, Talisa Rawlins, Amirah Quamina-Cummings, Sushmita Mangru, Chantel Dey, Ayana De Roy, Leondra John, Nicholas Ally, Kendra Trotman, Rhianna D’Andrade and Tyreese Richards.
