Banks DIH Ltd. presented bursary awards to 28 children of employees and shareholders who were successful at the 2011 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).

The presentation took place Saturday at Banks DIH Sports Club at Thirst Park.

Mr. Andrew Carto, Banks DIH Human Resources Director who delivered the feature address said his company was committed to working closely with the awardees on their path to success.

“We will be looking at your progress as several previous awardees have benefited from the Company’s Scholarship programme as well as employment,” he told the students.

Mr. Carto challenged the awardees to show appreciation, communicate effectively and develop quality relationships as they enter a new phase in their life.

“Dreams do not come through until you get out of bed and go to work”, he remarked.

Communications Manager Troy Peters in opening remarks said the Bursary Awards ceremony is an annual event organized by Banks DIH to show appreciation to children of employees and shareholders who were successful at the annual examination.

He offered congratulations to the students stating that Banks DIH prides itself in awarding excellence.

The 28 awardees included Terron Alleyne of Regina Primary School in Linden who topped this year’s NGSA.

The other awardees were Kaynecia Ellis, Keith Cort, Jaya Persaud, Vinika Harrinarine, De Nequa Carter, Akiba Munroe, Naomi Wickham, Rameshwar Totaram, Asif Ledoux, Tesheena Dindyal, Allistair Ross, Tamika Williams, Maya Persram, Akarshini Singh, Cherrise Duke, Kareema Cummings, Mark John, Damali Scott, Rushelle-Ann Rose, Jennifer Ally, Crystal Halley, Antonio Sankar, Joshua Trotman, Alden Amsterdam, Jonathan Jackson, Terrence Walker and Annyssa Robinson.
