Banks DIH Limited has installed a new Stromboli System as its multi-million dollar brewery modernization programme intensifies at Thirst Park.

Brewmaster, Mr. Matthew Kendall said the Stromboli system within the new Wort Kettle will provide many advantages over the present one such as, higher wort quality, energy conservation, loss reduction and overall consistency of wort.

Wort is the liquid extracted from the mashing process during brewing of beer. Wort contains the sugars that will be fermented by the brewing yeast to produce alcohol.

Engineers from reputable German company Krones is undertaking work on the brewery.

Meanwhile, the installation of the 14 outdoor unitanks which started two weeks ago is at an advanced stage and will be merged with other components of the brewery which should be fully operational by the end of August 2013.

Banks DIH Limited Chairman Mr. Clifford B. Reis had highlighted the upgrading of the brewery as part of major capital work being undertaken by the Company at its recent 57th Annual General Meeting at Thirst Park.
