Banks DIH Limited has made a humanitarian donation to support relief efforts in Venezuela, following the devastating earthquakes that struck the country on June 24, 2026. The company donated 2,400 cases of Rainforest Water and 7,560 cartons of Trisket Crackers and Biscuits for distribution to families affect by the disaster.
The twin earthquakes with a magnitude 7.2 foreshock followed seconds later by a magnitude 7.5 mainshock, both centred in the Veroes municipality of Yaracuy has caused widespread destruction across Venezuela, with the heaviest damage recorded in La Guaira and Caracas. The death toll has surpassed 1,700, with thousands more injured and tens of thousands displaced from their homes. The scale of this tragedy is immense. Thousands of families have lost homes, loved ones, and livelihoods virtually overnight. We hope this contribution brings some measure of comfort to those working through unimaginable circumstances.
The donation was handed over to Civil Defence Commission on July 1, 2026 for onward distribution to communities in need.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Sonya Forrester, Communications Executive said:
‘The scale of this disaster is heartbreaking. Venezuela is our neighbour, and at Banks DIH Limited, we believe that when a neighbouring nation is suffering, we have a responsibility to respond. We hope this donation provides some comfort to families who have lost so much.’
