Jaimattie Ramlakhan, Lawrence Brisport and Yomattie Prashad were the winners of the Coca-Cola Win Your Trip to Brasil” promotion following the drawing on June 6th, at Demico House Retail Liquor Store on Brickdam.
Ramlakhan resides at Pouderoyen, West Demerara, Bisport is from Amelia’s Ward, Linden and Prashad resides at West Coast Berbice.
These three names were pulled from a number of entries that were submitted at various Banks DIH outlets and dealers countrywide.
The three winners and guests will received an all-inclusive trip to neighbouring Brazil to witness the Equador versus France match in the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals on June 25th.
Ramlakhan’s entry was pulled from the bin by Patrick Clarke, while Brisport and Prashad’s entries were pulled by Zalena Mohammed and Elita Glen respectively.
The drawing was witnessed by Banks DIH Sales and Marketing executive Carlton Joao, Coca Cola Brand Manager Jennifer Khan, Auditor Jaikarran Mohan, trainee Brands Manager Colin King, Outdoor Events Manager Mortimer Stewart, Communications Manager Troy Peters as well as members of the media and the public.
Peters who chaired the proceedings said there was an overwhelming response by consumers and he extended congratulations to the winners.
Coca Cola has been the official sponsor of World Cup football since 1978 and his company is very pleased to be associated with Coca Cola and the 2014 World Cup.
Joao in brief remarks thanked all those who participated and said it is the first time that at least six Guyanese will be given the opportunity to witness a World Cup match live for free. According to Joao the FIFA World Cup Trophy toured Guyana compliments of Coca Cola in October last year.
The winners will depart Guyana on June 22nd and apart from witnessing the match, they will also be taken on a guided tour of Rio de Janeiro.
