Eight New Trucks To Boost Distribution Network

Banks DIH Limited has purchased eight new trucks valued at close to $60 (G) million to boost its distribution network.

Mr. Shabir Hussein, Building, Transport and Power Generation Executive said that vehicles are currently being branded and will be in operations in a month’s time.

The trucks were purchased in Japan through Southern Sales of Trinidad and Tobago while the bodies were fabricated by SMI Industries in the Twin island Republic.

Bursary Awards Presentation To Twenty-Eight Children

Banks DIH Ltd. presented bursary awards to 28 children of employees and shareholders who were successful at the 2011 National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).

The presentation took place Saturday at Banks DIH Sports Club at Thirst Park.

Mr. Andrew Carto, Banks DIH Human Resources Director who delivered the feature address said his company was committed to working closely with the awardees on their path to success.

Banks DIH Limited and General Works Union sign new three-year Wages agreement

A new three-year wages agreement for employees of Banks DIH Limited will take effect on October 1, 2011 following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the management of the Company and the General Workers Union (GWU).

Mr. Clifford B. Reis, Chairman and Managing Director of Banks DIH Limited and President of the GWU Mr. Norris Witter signed the agreement on Friday September 23, 2011 at Thirst Park in the presence of Chief Labour Officer Mr. Yoganand Persaud, union members and employees of Banks DIH Limited.

Assistant Managing Director of Banks DIH Ltd. Mr. George McDonald said that his company is proud to have won the President of Guyana Award for Export Achievement for 2010 noting that the honour came through diligent marketing strategies.

Mr. Vestergaard held several meetings with Brewery officials during which he acknowledged the high quality standards attained in the production of Vitamalt through investments in equipment and adherence to Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles during production

Banks DIH Ltd. Honours Thirty Of Its Employees

Banks DIH Ltd. honoured 30 of its employees who attained 20 years of service with the company at its Annual 20 Year Club Lunch recently.

Mr. Andrew Carto, Human Resources Director said that it was the largest group of employees inducted into the Club since the programme was launched several years ago.

He added that the Club now has an incredible 152 members, all currently employed with the company and it may be the highest number for any company locally.

Banks DIH Ltd Presentation to the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central

Banks DIH Ltd. made a presentation of $600,000 to the Rotary Club of Georgetown Central to assist with the operational cost for its mobile dental health care bus which services schools on the lower East Coast, East Bank West Coast and West Bank Demerara.

Mr. Clifford Reis, Chairman of Banks DIH Ltd. in presenting the cheque to President of the Club Ms.Gail Robinson said that his company was extremely pleased to support the work of the Rotary Club.

Reis commended the Rotarians for providing free dental health care to school aged children for the past 12 years.
