Banks DIH FC scored to convincing 4-1 win over Grove Hi Tech to capture the Coca-Cola East Bank Demerara Football Association (EBDFA) first division final played Wednesday evening at Thirst Park ground.

The tournament was sponsored by Banks DIH Ltd. under the Coca-Cola brand.

Banks FC striker Devon Ford netted a hattrick of goal as the home team took control of the match as early as the 29th minute when Ford found the back of the net for the first time in the match.

The diminutive striker struck again three minutes before the half time whistle to give his team a 2-0 lead.

Grove Hi Tech founded their rhythm on the resumption and sent their opponents on the defensive and were rewarded when John Matthews converted in the 48th minute when he lobbed the ball over the head of an advancing Banks goalkeeper.

Ford continued his dominance scoring a third goal in the 71st minute and three minutes later Peter Parks also found the back of the net to put the issue beyond doubt.

Six yellow cards were issued by referee Miguel Vieira who gave Grove Hi Tech’s Kevin Alleyne a red card for a second bookable offence.

The match was witnessed by Coca Cola Brand Manager Jennifer Khan, Banks DIH Outdoor Events Manager Mortimer Stewart, Communications Manager Troy Peters and top officials of the East Bank Football Association including its President Wayne Francois.

The Presentation of prizes to the outstanding teams and players will take place at a date to be announced shortly.
